Emotion-Regulated Interpersonal Communication & Affiliation
Welcome!
The Emotion-Regulated Interpersonal Communication and Affiliation Laboratory, or simply the ERICA Lab, is a research team led by Dr. Yen-Ping Chang, currently in the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. It'll soon be moved to the School of Psychological Sciences, the University of Tasmania, Australia, in January 2026.
The lab is interested in the roles of emotions in social relations. For example, our research tackles how people express emotional feelings to others, what the expresser "actually wants to say" through emotion expressions, what information the target ends up receiving, and as a result, how emotions regulate the communication and affiliation processes between the two parties.
